2021 CBCA Book of the Year Awards: Notables Announced
The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) is a not for profit organisation which aims to engage the community with literature for young Australians, and bring children and books together.
Each year the CBCA presents awards to promote children’s books of literary and artistic quality, and they are now one of the most influential and highly respected in Australia.
The CBCA Book of the Year Awards are announced in three parts: Notables (Longlist) announced in February; Shortlist announced in March; and the winners and honour books announced during Children’s Book Week in August.
The 2021 Notables have just been announced and we are thrilled that Hold On! Saving the Spotted Handfish written by Gina Newton and illustrated by Rachel Tribout, has been recognised in the Eve Pownall category for information books.
We’d like to congratulate Gina and Rachel, and all the creators who have been recognised this year. We’d also like to thank the CBCA for the work they do in supporting writers, illustrators and publishers in Australia.
You can check out all of our titles that have been honoured in previous years, in the CBCA Book of the Year Awards Showcase on our website. Teacher Notes for Hold On! Saving the Spotted Handfish are available to download from our website too.
We will wait with anticipation for the Shortlist announcement in March!
